3 Days Curfew in Abia State

For the past few days security alert has been raised in abia state after some suspected �members of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) militants, blocked the road against the Nigerian Army who were on an operation to check kidnapping, banditry, assassination, secessionist within the region, and started attacking Army officers with stones which led to the injury of a passerby, a police officer and some Army officers who are receiving treatment.

However the abia state government explicitly states that abia state is a component of the federal republic of Nigeria and is subject to the supremacy of the constitution of the country and all other extant law. The �state government recognizes the right of the Nigerian Army and other security agencies to perform all their statutory duty of protecting lives and property.

Abia State Government is committed to protect its citizen and on that note has advised Abian to remain law abiding and carry on their lawful business. Abia residents are to observe the curfew from 6 am to 6 pm.
