Messy divorce: Chris Rock’s wife, Malaak is trying to get half of his $70m fortune

It is getting quite nasty for American actor and comedian Chris Rock who is in a messy divorce with his estranged wife Malaak Compton-Rock; she is demanding a huge $35million payout from his net worth of $70million as well as sole custody of their daughters.

NY Post’s Page Six reported Compton-Rock’s lawyers said that the prenuptial agreement the duo signed expired under the ‘sunset’ clause and now she is demanding half his fortune.

In the document submitted by Compton-Rock’s lawyers, she explained that she put her career on hold after the birth of their two daughters, Lola and Zahra, having stayed at home to raise their children. Now she is demanding a payout commensurate with the lifestyle they are accustomed to.

Chris Rock filed for divorce from her last year after 20 years of marriage, though the media still has no details of what went wrong.
