Emmanuel Adebayor, Emenike convert to Islam

Nigerian star footballer Emmanuel Emenike and Togolese Emmanuel Adebayor have reportedly converted to Islam..

According to a report by Daily Post, Emenike reportedly told his coach at Fenerbahce, Vitor Pereira, that he is now a Muslim.

The Super Eagles striker was missing when the squad had breakfast on Saturday, prompting the manager to ask his whereabouts.

According to Turkish daily Fanatik
“I’m fasting,” Emenike reportedly told Pereira,

Pereira replied: “You’re not a Muslim,” insisting that Emenike is a Christian.

In response, Emenike made it clear he was muslim saying..

“I became a Muslim, I am a Muslim.”

Meanwhile, Adebayor converted to Islam on Sunday, July 5, 2015, when he was spotted taking the Shahada (the Islamic creed declaring belief in the oneness of God and the acceptance of Muhammad as God’s prophet). The ceremony took place in Togo, Adebayor’s adoptive country.
