I Paid A Fine To Extend The Beginning Of My Show At The 02 Arena – Davido

Davido has shared that he actually paid tens of thousands of pounds as fine for extending the time to start his show at the 02 Arena event center in London when he discovered the venue was half-full as at when it was supposed to begin.

OBO revealed all this in a recent chat with DJ Ebro on the Morning show on HOT 97.

The singer said he was prepared by 8pm but fans showed up late.

His words, “My boy came and told me, ‘hey you can go on stage right now,’ ‘I was going crazy,” He tells Ebro. “They came and told me it’s 50 thousand pounds to extend the time and I told them ‘do it, I will pay even 200 thousand pounds here.”

On his latest collaboration with American rapper, Casanova, he said ”He called me up, told me he was coming over, next thing he sent me a picture of the flight, so I started making calls to make sure he was good.”

THe then spoke about his style of music, “The originator of Afrobeat is Fela… When African music was getting big in the UK, they needed a name for it, so they called it Afrobeats but if you ask me the original Afrobeat is Fela.

Me I call my music Afro-fusion but I feel like my Afrobeat is so big, so I go with it.”
