My Ex-Husband Stole Everything I Worked For – Mary Joy Okoye

joy okoyePeter and Paul Okoye’s sister, Mary Joy Okoye has come out to confirm the end of her marriage to Nollywood star, Emma Emordi.

In a recent social media post, she wrote about some things that transpired when they were together.

Reacting to a post on Facebook that asked “what is your ex good at,” Mary Okoye wrote that Emordi was good at cheating and stealing.

When bashed for disgracing her ex in public, she replied, “My dear, don’t take it personal ok… It is I of experience. Wait until you get married to a man who will once you with STDs, steal all you ever worked for. You catch him in bed with another woman. And then he will tell you he gained nothing from the marriage even after giving him a son, then you will know where I’m coming from. I pray you never meet such”.

In addition to the ongoing drama in the family with P Square and their split up, things have definitely been rocky for the Okoyes recently.

P-Square were a Nigerian duo of identical twin brothers Peter Okoye and Paul Okoye. They produced and released their albums through Square Records. In December 2011, they signed a record deal with Akon’s Konvict Muzik label. In May 2012, they signed a record distribution deal with Universal Music’s South African branch. On 25 September 2017, numerous media outlets reported that the group disbanded. Reports about a breakup surfaced after Peter reportedly sent a termination letter to the group’s lawyer. Prior to this report, the duo disbanded in 2016, supposedly over a disagreement about the role of their manager.

P-Square began in St. Murumba secondary school, a small Catholic school in Jos, Plateau State Nigeria. Peter and Paul joined their school music and drama club where they began singing, dancing, and mimicking songs by MC Hammer, Bobby Brown and Michael Jackson.

In 2001, “P-Square” won the “Grab Da Mic” competition, and hence Benson & Hedges sponsored their debut album, titled Last Nite, which was released under Timbuk2 music label. P-Square was also nominated as “Most Promising African Group” in the Kora Awards three months after the release of their debut album. They eventually won the 2003 Amen Award for “Best R&B Group”.

The duo had a difference in opinion regarding what Peter perceived as a lopsidedness in individual input of songs which was getting featured on their joint albums with Paul getting a lion share of his songs selected. This led to Peter refusing to do anything P-Square for weeks. Peter relocated taking his wife and kids from the mansion they both lived years and accommodated their extended family in. A lawyer was also involved to help split their fortune as they were both involved in joint ventures over the years.
