I’ll Defeat Any Godfather In Lagos If I Contest To Be Governor – El-Rufai

Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai has come out to say that he has had several disputes with APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, unlike some other politicians like Rauf Aregbesola.

The governor revealed this while speaking at a recent political event in Ikoyi.

According to him, if he wants to run for governor of Lagos, he would do everything possible to prepare ahead to know why several registered voters fail to vote in the state and where they go on election day.

He added that he would do all he can to visit these inactive voters for the next four years and convince just two million of them to come and vote for him to defeat any godfather during the election.

His words, “If I want to run for governor of Lagos, I will start now. I will commission a study to know why those five million registered voters did not vote; where do they go on election day?

“Then I will start visiting them for the next four years. I will try and get just two million of them to come and vote for me; I will defeat any godfather.

“The key is to go to the people. The card reader and the biometric register have given us the tools to connect directly with the people.

“I assure you if you do that for the next four years, connecting with the people; the tin godfather, you will retire him or her permanently. But it is hard work; it requires three to four years of hard work. So, if you want to run in 2023, you should start now.”
