Nigeria Cannot Afford The Cost Of Segregation – Obafemi Hamzat

Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat has come out to say that Nigerian states must keep existing as a united and formidable country.

He revealed this during the special Jumat service held to commemorate the 60th Nigeria Independence celebration at the Lagos State Secretariat Community Central Mosque, Alausa, Ikeja.

According to him, Nigeria cannot afford the cost of war and segregation so the younger generation has to be reoriented on the ideals of the founding fathers of Nigeria.

He added that the future of Nigeria belongs to today’s youths and leaders must keep leading by example worthy of emulation.

His words, “It is only in unity that the country can progress and overcome its daunting challenges and take its rightful place in the comity of nations.

“The future of this great country belongs to today’s youths and as such, we as leaders need to lead by example worthy of emulation.”

Hamzat was born in September 19, 1964 in Lagos, Nigeria into the family of Late. Oba Mufutau Olatunji Hamzat and Late.

Alhaja Kehinde Hamzat who is from Iga Egbe, Lagos state. His father, Late. Oba Mufutau Olatunji Hamzat served as a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly and as a Commissioner for Transportation in the state (1979 – 1983) before becoming the Vice-Chairman SW of then Alliance for Democracy(AD).

Olatunji Hamzat become the Lagos West Senatorial District leader of the Action Congress and a crowned king through his maternal royal lineage.
