Tinubu’s Government Will Not Rely On Borrowing – Wale Edun

The President Bola Tinubu administration has come out to say that it inherited a bad economy with an unacceptably high rate of unemployment.

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun recently had his say while speaking to the press, and Nigerians have been reacting.

According to him, the present government will not rely on borrowing to raise funds to fix the country, and it will instead focus on being transparent, honest and accountable to the people.

He added that youth unemployment is unacceptably high in Nigeria right now, and that must be worked on.

His words, “Per capita had fallen steadily, inflation is at 24 per cent, unemployment is high, you know they are rebasing the way in which it’s calculated.”

“Either way, it is high and youth unemployment is even unacceptably high, these are the key metrics that we have met.”
