My Generation Originated From Nigeria – Buju Banton

Popular singer, Buju Banton has come out to say that he is originally from the Igbo tribe in the South-Eastern part of Nigeria.

He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.

According to him, he has traced his roots to the Morons who originated from the Igbo people, and it is sad to see that indigenous Maroon lands are currently under threat in Nigeria.

He added that his generation originated from Nigeria, and he is an Igbo man according to his bloodline.

His words, “Our Indigenous way of life and our land are being threatened by the current government of Jamaica which seeks to bring Chinese and other nationalities into the Cockpit region which is an Indigenous sacred region to usurp us the Maroons as the warriors.

Maroons are some of the Indigenous warriors on my Island. We fought the British relentlessly. We are called Blackmaroons. My generation originated from Nigeria. I am an Igbo man according to my bloodline.”
