Flawed Leadership Recruitment Processes Will Have Dire Consequences For Nigeria – Peter Obi

Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has come out to criticize the Saturday election in Edo State.

He recently had his say via his social media page, and Nigerians have been reacting.

According to him, the election was a blatant example of state capture that undermines Nigeria’s democratic process, and he can only warn that such flawed leadership recruitment processes will have dire consequences for the nation.

Peter added that he cannot over-emphasize the importance of properly utilising the Independent National Electoral Commission’s technological advancements to ensure free and fair elections.

His words, “What happened over the weekend in the name of election in Edo State does not in any way represent the democratic process we chose as a method of electing our political leadership.

To the agencies and individuals being used to undermine our democracy simply because they hold positions of authority, please remember that your time in office is not eternal.

Today’s politics is not about capturing power, but about saving the country and making it work for everyone, regardless of their background.”
