HARRI OBI is a Nigerian radio and television presenter, voice actor and event host. He is best known for hosting one of the most watched show on the Y!Tv [Y!Naija Television] platform. In 2014, he hosted the Globacom sponsored ‘Garden City Fashion Awards’ Red Carpet, held in Port Harcourt and was one of the young presenters considered to host the 2014 Future Awards Red Carpet.
EARLY LIFE / EDUCATION
Harri was born in the early 90s in Lagos on April 3rd. After his primary education, he proceeded to the prestigious Kings College Lagos for his secondary school education. In 2011, he bagged a Bachelor of Science (B.sc) degree in Political Science from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
CAREER
Harri started his broadcasting career as a University undergraduate. He worked as a field presenter / red carpet host during school breaks for Win Tv – 247, an internet television channel based in Lagos.
Plateau Radio – Television Corporation [PRTV] While undergoing his mandatory National Youth Service in Jos, Plateau state, he was selected to be one of the 10 elite members of the OBS (Orientation Broadcasting Service), the camp’s make-shift radio station and subsequently went on to anchor some programmes that were well received by fellow corp members and camp officials alike. Towards the end of the service scheme, he was picked as the Entertainment segment host for a new television programme, ‘Corper’s Forum’, to air on the state’s television station, PRTV. He was later made the lead presenter for the entire programme.

On the completion of his NYSC scheme, he enrolled at the Proemcees ‘OAP ACADEMY’, owned and operated by veteran broadcaster, Kamal Salau, the former General Manager of Star-fm, host of Nigeria’s edition of ‘Don’t Forget the Lyrics’ and reality television show, House (4) Four. While at the academy, he was tutored by Nelly Kalu of Nigeria Info, Chioma from Inspiration-fm, who is also recognised as Nigeria’s foremost voice over coach, Onigbisi Adaba, the General Manager of Cool-fm, Wazobia-fm and Nigeria Info, Phisayo of Smooth-fm, and musician, Segun Obe. It was while at the academy that he got spotted by a young Unilag-fm presenter, and was subsequently drafted to come work at the campus radio station.
He would later grow to be one of the most favored and utilized presenter by his Producer as a result of his sharp wit, humour, and confident on-air personality and also his ability to get involved in the production process.
EbonyLife Television [ELTV] Harri was chosen as one of the guest hosts on a special episode of ‘THE SPOT’ that airs on ELTV, (Channel 165 on DSTV) and originally hosted by media personality and former Big Brother Nigeria housemate, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Lamide Akintogun and Zainab Balogun, tagged, ‘The Spot Fan Hangout’. According to him, it afforded him the priceless opportunity of learning from and working with his role model, Ebuka, and also the show’s producer, C-von (first ever MTV Base Nigeria VJ).
YNaija Television [Y!Tv] Harri is currently one of the young presenters that broadcast from the Y!Tv platform. The same platform that produces the award winning television show, ‘Rubbing Minds’ that airs on Channels Tv and hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.
