APC Should Resolve Osun Electoral Disputes Only Via Legal Channels – Seyi Makinde

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has come out to caution the All Progressives Congress against destabilising Osun State.

He recently had his say while speaking in Osogbo on behalf of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum, and Nigerians have been reacting.

According to him, political actors must learn to resolve disputes through legal channels rather than fomenting unrest, and it is always better to adhere to the rule of law instead of resorting to self-help.

He added that it is vital to learn from history and avoid actions that could plunge Osun into crisis.

His words, “Osun should not be turned into a battleground over issues that can be resolved by the judiciary.

We do not want Wild Wild West. They should stay away from this group. We just want to peacefully deliver dividends to our people.

Nobody should resort to self-help. Even if you have court judgements, there’s a process. Let the process go through.

You cannot, because you have so-called federal might, want to propagate the process. This is a federal arrangement.

If anybody has a judgment, there is a procedure for enforcement of court decisions. It is illegal to resort to self-help.”
