BEAT FM launches operations in Ibadan

On January 1, 2013,�The Beat FM 97.9 went live on air, officially launching operations.

Auditions were carried out in February 2012 and some staff have already been hired. Cool FM�s�Tyeng �Gang� Gyang is one of the�likely suspects to kick off with the station.

The urban station will be rivaling popular Ibadan-based radio station Splash FM.

There�s no word yet on whether Naija FM which is also setting up in Ibadan, will also be launched soon.

Owned by Chris Ubosi�s�Megalectrics,�Beat FM�started off in 2008 with The Beat 99.9FM in Lagos.
