Borno Communities Should Embrace Repentant Insurgents – Governor Zulum

Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has come out to urge communities in the state to embrace the repentant insurgents.

He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and Nigerians have been reacting.

According to him, he can only urge that instead of retribution, the communities should live in harmony and support the surrendered insurgents to resettle and reintegrate well at home.

Zulum added that even if he understands the fear of those who are not willing to forgive, it is better to manage them in repentance.

His words, “I want to call on the people of Borno State to support the repentant Boko Haram insurgents.

We understand your fears, but imagine that these people are left in the bush; they would have been wreaking more havoc than imagined. Managing them in repentance is, therefore, better.”
