US President-elect, Donald Trump has come out to escalate tensions with the BRICS bloc.

He recently threatened to impose 100% tariffs on imports from member countries if they proceed with creating a new currency to rival the US dollar.

According to him, the idea that the BRICS countries are trying to move away from the dollar should be squashed immediately because he would require total commitment from the nations.

Trump added that the countries must prove that they will neither create a new BRICS currency nor back any other currency to replace the mighty U.S.

His words, “The idea that the BRICS Countries are trying to move away from the Dollar while we stand by and watch is OVER.

We require a commitment from these Countries that they will neither create a new BRICS Currency nor back any other Currency to replace the mighty U.S. Dollar or, they will face 100% Tariffs, and should expect to say goodbye to selling into the wonderful U.S. Economy.”
