Female Politicians Can Deliver The Change Nigeria Needs – Tolulope Akande

Popular Oyo State lawmaker in the House of Representatives, Tolulope Akande-Sadipe has come out to urge leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to make provisions for more women to participate in politics.

She recently made the appeal while speaking with newsmen in Ibadan, and Nigerians have been reacting.

According to her, women have inherent leadership skills that can deliver the desired change we need for the development of the country.

She added that her own personal role in politics has inspired several women to join a party as they are fed up of the fruitless ranting on social media.

Her words, “Our party must dignify our women by giving them the opportunity to thrive in politics and run for elective posts. This will encourage the rapid development of our party because women have an inbuilt gift to develop things,”

“I tell members of my political party that I am the 33.3%, at the moment. If we (women) don’t become 33.3% we are not doing right by our country.”

“We need to create a level playing ground for better participation. I am imploring the party leadership of the APC to make more slots available for women and youths participation in elective roles and appointments.”
