Obaseki Will Overcome His Current Challenges – Finitri

Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has come out to say that Governor Godwin Obaseki will overcome the political challenges in the Edo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and emerge the party’s flagbearer in the election.

Ahmadu revealed this to journalists when he arrived at the Benin Airport to perform the national assignment for his party, the PDP.

According to him, Obaseki is a Democrat and he keeps behaving like one, so he expects nothing but more democracy from him if given another opportunity to rule.

He added that he believes Obaseki will overcome the current challenges he is battling and be better for it.

His words, “Obaseki is a democrat; he has given us a venue for the event and we didn’t expect less from him. He will also lodge me in the Government House Quarters, which is normal.”

“I believe Obaseki will overcome, and we will also overcome our challenges and meet at the election.”

“As chairman of the Committee, the PDP should expect fairness and justice to all the aspirants jostling for the party’s ticket. We will ensure a level playing ground and see that the best candidate emerges to contest with the APC candidate.”

Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki (born 1 July, 1957 in Benin City, Nigeria) is a Nigerian businessman and politician, who is currently serving as the Executive Governor of Edo State. He was sworn in as the governor on 12 November 2016. He was the Chairman of the Edo State Economic and Strategy Team inaugurated by former Governor Adams Oshiomole in March 2009.

Obaseki holds post graduate degrees in both Finance and International Business, and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stock Brokers, Nigeria.

Obaseki served as executive board member of several private companies including Afrinvest. He is the recipient of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) award for best performing Governor of the year in October 2019.
