Cossy Orjiakor, in company of a few other C-list celebrities visited the Next Movie Star house recently to mentor the housemates. Yes, MENTOR! One cannot but wonder how the organizers arrived at the choice of Cossy as a mentor for aspiring actors for that matter.

Without being judgmental, let’s over look Cossy’s boobs for a minute (as difficult as that is), and ask the serious questions, is she really an actress – the kind that can mentor aspiring talents? Or does she even have the basic criteria (talent) to be one?

No doubt, Ms Orjiakor has a viable platform (her breast); to ply any kind of trade she wants. And she will be patronized anytime, anyday like a bottle of chilled Coke inside Lagos traffic. Producers, directors.. will work with her, just for commercial or ‘personal’ purpose. But not when it’s a serious project, brand or a professional, who knows the value of talent and brand affinity.

Having said that, Cossy should have been penciled for mentorship in reality shows for aspiring porn or semi-porn stars. Little or no talent is required to be successful in that career path after all, as long as you have enough ‘asset’ to flaunt and you can master the art of showing them off.

Interestingly, since Cossy introduced her boobs to us, in the most daring manner, some years back in Abass Obesere’s videos, her fame was automatic. She instantly became the queen of controversy – giving journalists enough to write about week-in-week-out. And that hasn’t stopped.

However, it would not be out of course to say Ms Ojiakor is a failed actress and singer (needless to say she doesn’t have the talent or gift in acting or singing) and so it becomes ironical how she can be nominated to mentor aspiring acts.

The only explanation that makes sense is, the organizers of the reality show chose Cossy to create a buzz for the show. And Cossy didn’t disappoint them. Her boobs came handy, as always.
