Popular leader of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis has come out to mark 1,000 days since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

He recently called it a shameful disaster for humanity at an audience attended by First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, and the world has been reacting.

According to him, the current anniversary is a tragic reminder for the victims and the destruction it has caused, and he constantly wishes it never happened.

Pope added that he is close to the martyred Ukrainian people, and he can only hope that weapons will eventually give way to dialogue.

His words, “Yesterday marked 1,000 days since the invasion of Ukraine. A tragic anniversary for the victims and the destruction it has caused.

But at the same time, (it is) a shameful disaster for all humanity.”

WOW.
