Although he didn’t claim ownership of the song, Esegine Allen, better known as Orezi has revealed he re-branded the popular dance step.
Speaking with NET, yesterday, September 30, 2014, the singer revealed:
I dropped the shoki song in March 2014, I didn’t create shoki dance, I only made it popular
He also talked about the controversies surrounding the song with different versions including the ones from YBNL’s Lil Kesh, Tekno and B-Red.
No, nobody created Shoki, Shoki is a trend and I believe everybody has right to recreate or do a song of shoki, after all it was a street boy who first did it. I just intend making money from it, I don’t care what the controversies are.
Orezi is set to drop his debut album, Masterpiece in November, 2014.
