Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has come out to say that he will announce his preferred successor in January 2026.

He recently had his say during the 11th Omituntun Ramadan lecture held at the government house arcade in Ibadan, and Nigerians have been reacting.

According to him, he can only thank Muslim leaders for supporting his administration thus far, and he can only urge them to continue praying for his government.

He then encouraged Muslims to use the Ramadan season to promote peace and unity in society, regardless of religious differences.
