I’ll Never Support War Because l’m A Child Of War – Djokovic

World number one, Novak Djokovic has come out to slam Wimbledon organisers over their decision to ban Russian and Belarusian players from this year’s tournament in response to the invasion of Ukraine.

He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.

According to him, he really cannot support such a move from the All England Club because it is just not good when politics interferes with sport.

Djokovic added that he will always condemn war and will never support it because he is a child of war.

His words, “I will always condemn war, I will never support war being myself a child of war.”

“I know how much emotional trauma it leaves. In Serbia we all know what happened in 1999. In the Balkans we have had many wars in recent history.”

“However, I cannot support the decision of Wimbledon, I think it is crazy. When politics interferes with sport, the result is not good.”
