Kim Kardashian starts a riot! Police officers in Bahrain fire tear gas at protestors angry over reality TV star’s presence in Gulf kingdom

She is certainly not everybody’s cup of tea but never before has Kim Kardashian’s presence started a riot.

Just hours after the reality TV star gushed about her impressions of Bahrain, riot police were forced to fire tear gas at an angry crowd.

More than 50 hardline Islamic protesters had gathered to denounce the 31-year-old’s presence in the Gulf kingdom.

The clashes took place just before Miss Kardashian opened the Bahrain branch of her Millions of Milkshakes shop.

Protesters were seen chanting ‘God is Great’ near the shopping complex in Riffa, about 12 miles south of the capital Manama.

The demonstrators were cleared before Miss Kardashian appeared late today.

Earlier, she posted glowing remarks about Bahrain on her Twitter account, calling it ‘the prettiest place on earth.’

It was re-Tweeted by Bahrain’s foreign minister.

Miss Kardashian was in Kuwait earlier this week to open another branch of the shop.

The reality star was seen slurping away on a calorie-laden milkshake at the Millions Of Milkshakes store opening at the Avenues Mall in Kuwait City on Thursday – as her legal problems raged on back home in Los Angeles.

She is currently involved in a divorce with estranged husband Kris Humphries.

On Wednesday, the TV star’s divorce lawyer told a California court how her client feels ‘handcuffed’ to Humphries – with the pair at loggerheads over a settlement.

Miss Kardashian wants a straight-up divorce while Kris is seeking an annulment based on ‘fraud’ – but neither side is backing down.

Meanwhile, it is now being reported Kris wants Kim to return the $2m engagement ring he gave her, but she is refusing.
