Popular American rapper, Nicki Minaj has come out to open up about life as a mother.

She recently had her say in the newest cover story for Vogue magazine, and fans have been reacting.

According to her, birthing a child was her unlocking one of the secrets of life, and her soul lights up whenever she looks in her son’s face.

Nicki added that it is funny how her baby still has no idea how nerve-wracking it’s been for her to be a mother and an artist.

Her words, “I look in my son’s face, and my whole soul lights up.”

“You know that feeling when you unlock one of the secrets of life? For me the the idea of accepting what you can’t change – it just never clicked with me before.”

“You want to have control over everything, but that’s the easiest way to be unhappy. So now, if I find myself trying to control it all, I try to remember what’s really important.”

Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty (born December 8, 1982), better known as Nicki Minaj, is a Trinidadian-born rapper, singer, songwriter, actress, and model.

Born in Saint James district of Port of Spain and raised in the Queens borough of New York City, she gained public recognition after releasing the mixtapes Playtime Is Over (2007), Sucka Free (2008), and Beam Me Up Scotty (2009).
