Neglecting African Culture Is The Reason For Nigeria’s Insecurity – Oba of Benin

The Oba of Benin, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku-Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II has come out to blame the present security situation in Nigeria on deviation from cultural values and norms.

He recently revealed this during a display of Culture and Tradition in Benin, tagged, “IDIA N’IYE-ESIGIE” organised in honour of the visiting Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero.

According to him, kidnapping, banditry, armed robbery and other social vices are very traceable to absolute neglect of the African heritage and culture.

He added that the Benin throne would keep upholding and maximizing the cultural practices and values of the land, to foster peace and overall development of the country.
