Nigerian Music Is Perfect, But There’s No Structure In Place To Fully Exploit It – Fireboy

Popular singer, Fireboy has come out to list out the reason why Nigerian artists rarely tour their own country.

He recently had his say via his social media page, and fans have been reacting.

According to him, the fact is that even if Nigerian music is perfect, there is no structure in place in the country, and this restricts the artistes from fully exploring the sound in their own nation.

Fireboy added that it will cost us nothing to have an arena in Lagos State and bring fans from all around the world.

His words, “Everyone is saying ‘Afrobeats to the world.’ The music is perfect. But there is no structure. They [foreign] fans are listening [to our music] but when are they going to come to Lagos and watch us perform?

When are we going have arenas in Lagos where we can bring people from all around the world? You know, it [structure] will make everything just easier.”

On if Nigerian fans will pay, “Yeah, they will. We already are. We just need to give people the incentive to pay. If you build a proper arena in Lagos, people would want to pay [gate fees] because they know that they are safe.”
