Nollywood actress, Laide Bakare has come out to blast police officers for harassing her and driving off with her 14-year-old daughter alone in her car.

She recently shared a video of her yelling at the men in police uniform who stopped her while it was raining, and fans have been reacting.

According to her, she has no idea why the officers stopped her alone and allowed other cars to go scot free if they were really maintaining law and order.

Laide added that the officers actually dragged her down from her vehicle and drove off with her teenage daughter.

The term continues to be used in the media to refer to the Nigerian film industry, with its definition later assumed to be a portmanteau of the words “Nigeria” and “Hollywood”, the American major film hub.

Film-making in Nigeria is divided largely along regional, and marginally ethnic and religious lines. Thus, there are distinct film industries – each seeking to portray the concern of the particular section and ethnicity it represents. However, there is the English-language film industry which is a melting pot for filmmaking and filmmakers from most of the regional industries.
