He revealed this during the International Youth celebration held at new banquet hall, Makurdi.
According to him, he is also among the leaders that have failed tha nation and it is important for the youths to not take the path he and his fellow governors have set.
He added that Nigeria has a rule of law that is selective, which is why there are several sacred cows that cannot be touched in our nation.
His words, “Let me say here that the leaders in this country have failed, me inclusive. It Is a big shame to us leaders, we must ask for forgiveness from God. And I implore you that you shouldnβt take after us. Greed is a big challenge. The path we are toying is the wrong one for us. There is a challenge.”
βThe rule of law is selective, there are sacred cows that cannot be touched, even if they do bad things, they cannot be touched.
βPeople steal billions and they are allowed to go scot-free while those who steal chickens are jailed.β

He was born 23 April 1961 in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, Nigeria. He attended St. John’s Primary School, Gboko in 1970 but moved to St. Catherine’s Primary School, Makurdi in 1974, completing his primary education in 1976.
Chief Dr. Samuel Ioraer Ortom was admitted into Idah Secondary Commercial College, Idah in Kogi State in 1976. He did two years in the school before his father’s retirement in 1979 ended his dream of completing formal secondary school education for financial reasons. He became a professional driver.
