Only God Can Reward Nigerian Soldiers – Bimbo Ademoye

Nollywood actress, Bimbo Ademoye is celebrating her birthday today.

To surprise the movie star, her brother, who is a soldier recorded a clip of himself with his colleagues, singing to her on the battlefield.

Reacting, Bimbo revealed that her brother has given her the best gift she can ask for, and it got her really emotional.

She then appreciated Nigerian soldiers for all they do for the country, adding that only God can reward them.

Her words, “My brother has been away from home for months, missed out on Christmas, new year, sallah and now my birthday. Fighting for country. So him calling me and hailing me with his fellow soldiers is the best gift I can ever ask for. I’m still crying because I miss my big baby so much. To the GOOD Nigerian soldiers , Thank you for all you do for our country. Only God can reward you. I legit felt like a soldier listening to them. I love my brother sooo much.”

The origin of the term “Nollywood” remains unclear; Jonathan Haynes traced the earliest usage of the word to a 2002 article by Matt Steinglass in the New York Times, where it was used to describe Nigerian cinema.

Charles Igwe noted that Norimitsu Onishi also used the name in a September 2002 article he wrote for the New York Times. The term continues to be used in the media to refer to the Nigerian film industry, with its definition later assumed to be a portmanteau of the words “Nigeria” and “Hollywood”, the American major film hub.

Film-making in Nigeria is divided largely along regional, and marginally ethnic and religious lines. Thus, there are distinct film industries – each seeking to portray the concern of the particular section and ethnicity it represents. However, there is the English-language film industry which is a melting pot for filmmaking and filmmakers from most of the regional industries.
