The Federal Government has come out to say that no ransom was paid for the rescue of the kidnapped schoolchildren from Kuriga village in Kaduna State.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris recently revealed this to the press, and Nigerians have been reacting.

According to him, President Tinubu rescued the children as promised, and money did not exchange hands to make that happen.

He added that the President has also charged security agencies to make sure kidnappings are brought to a halt henceforth.

His words, “As promised by Mr. President, they have been rescued. No ransom was paid. The President has also charged security agencies to make sure kidnappings are brought to a halt, and all the perpetrators of kidnapping will be fished out and punished.”
