In an interview with Hot 97’s Ebro In The Morning show, rapper T.I. confirmed that he has ended business relationship with his Australian protΓ©gΓ© Iggy Azalea.
It started after rapper Q-Tip called out Iggy last year for appropriating black culture.
T.I. reportedly tried to settle things quietly but Iggy took it all to Twitter and got burnt.
But T.I. maintained that he holds no hard feelings for her, that he had only helped launch her career and show her the ropes after she moved from Australia.
She had a lot thrown at her in one time, any human being anywhere is going to have a hard time
he said..
It’s very difficult to be the new kid and to be the butt of the jokes and to be directed, like, be the direction of all the negativity, you know what I mean?.. [Iggy] came at a time when culturally, this nation – she’s not from here – we were actually looking for a source for somewhere to place some pent-up aggression.. And they just got it for no reason. In some cases, they brought it upon themselves, and in some cases, they were kind of just the easiest place to put some pent up aggression.
But Iggy’s sources has confirmed to Global Grind that she was blindsided because she didn’t know that there were problems between her and T.I; he is still collecting publishing checks and playing like everything is normal between them. And again, she wouldn’t go on a radio station to talk about him when she considers him family.
But the ‘Fancy’ rapper seems to have ignored it all, because she took to Twitter to talk about her upcoming wedding to her fiance Nick Young.
