Rivers State Is Proof That Democracy Is No Longer Thriving Under Tinubu – Group

The Nigerians in Diaspora Movement for Democracy has come out to call on President Bola Tinubu to reconsider emergency rule in Rivers State.

The group recently had their say via an open letter co-signed by Dr Samson Idoko and Patriot John Andrew Onuh, and Nigerians have been reacting.

According to them, the suspension of the Rivers State Governor, his deputy, and members of the State House of Assembly sets a very dangerous precedent, and it is a clear sign that democracy in Nigeria is now under threat.

The group added that with what has happened in Rivers State, it is clear that democracy under Tinubu is no longer thriving.

They wrote, “We wish to passionately plead that democracy should be allowed to thrive and seen obviously to be thriving.

With what has happened in Rivers State, it is potentially clear that democracy under your presidency is no longer thriving.

Democracy is in a state of asphyxia, losing air, and if nothing is done in a few minutes, it will be suffocated to death.

We are convinced that Your Excellency will heed this call and act expeditiously.”

WOW.
