NFL commissioner, Roger Goodell has come out to say that the active r*pe allegation against Jay-Z won’t impact the league’s relationship with Roc Nation.

Recall that Jay-Z was accused in a civil lawsuit of r*ping a 13-year-old girl in 2000 with Sean “Diddy” Combs, and fans have been reacting.

According to Roger, the league’s relationship with Shawn Carter and Roc Nation is not changing after the recent allegations, and preparations for the next Super Bowl has not been affected as well.

He added that Jay-Z has already given a strong response to the accusation, so the law should take its course.

His words, “We are aware of the civil allegations and Jay Z’s really strong response to that. We know obviously that litigation is happening. But from our standpoint our relationship is not changing with them, including our preparations for the next Super Bowl.

I think they’re getting incredibly comfortable with not just the Super Bowl but other events that they have advised us on and helped us with. They’ve been helpful in the social justice area to us on many occasions. They’ve been great partners that have provided a lot of value to us.”

WOW.

Shawn Corey Carter (born December 4, 1969), known professionally as Jay-Z, is an American rapper, businessman, and record executive.

Rooted in East Coast hip-hop, he was named the greatest rapper of all time by Billboard and Vibe in 2023, and topped Forbes list of “The 50 Top Rappers of All Time” in 2024. Known for his complex lyrical ability—which often uses double entendres and word play—and braggadocio, his music is built upon a rags to riches narrative.

He served as president and chief executive officer of Def Jam Recordings from 2004 to 2007, and founded the entertainment company Roc Nation the following year.

Shawn Corey Carter was born on December 4, 1969, in Brooklyn, New York City. He was raised in Marcy Houses, a public housing project in Brooklyn’s Bedford–Stuyvesant neighborhood. His father, Adnis Reeves, abandoned the family when Jay-Z was 11 years old, and Jay-Z and his three older siblings were raised by his mother, Gloria Carter.
