Popular singer, Selena Gomez has come out to open up about her mental health journey.

She recently revealed that she feels more empowered than ever before and she is pleased with her growth.

According to Selena, being in control of the stories around her mental health struggles without getting them twisted was the trick that worked for her.

Gomez added that she is happy with her decision to write about her mental health on social media because it took away the opportunity for people to distort her feelings or misquote her words.

Her words, “My story was manipulated a lot. And I got so angry that my story was twisted into so many different things.”

“I think that was my moment when I knew [nobody] was going to take my story away from me. On my own social media, I got to tell the truth. And once I started claiming my own name, I think people understood my mental health journey.”
