Sterling, Bernardo Silva A Mahrez All Lent Me Money During My Court Trial – Mendy

Ex-Manchester City defender, Benjamin Mendy has come out to say that he had to borrow money during his legal challenges.

Recall that the French defender was accused of r*pe and s*xual assault when he was a City player and was immediately suspended by his club without any form of pay to fight his legal battles.

In his witness statement while taking Man City to court for a refund of his pay after getting acquitted of all r*pe and s*xual assault charges, Mendy hailed Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva and Riyad Mahrez for helping him with finances to pay his legal fees and support his family.

His words, “Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva and Riyad Mahrez all lent me money to help me try and pay my legal fees and support my family.

I rejected all attempts by Manchester City to cancel his contract as I wanted to go back and train with his team.

I believe that it is fair and just for me to be paid the wages that I would have earned but for being falsely arrested for crimes that I did not commit.”
