A top WHO official for clinical care response, Janet Diaz recently revealed this to the press, and the world has been reacting.
According to her, except it is for clinical trials, the drug should be completely avoided because of a lack of data demonstrating its benefits.
She added that WHO is fighting against the overuse of unproven therapies, especially some of these repurposed drugs, in various parts of the world without evidence of efficacy
Her words, “This applies to patients with COVID-19 of any disease severity.”
