Emmerson Mnangagwa, the new president of Zimbabwe, who was sworn in today in a ceremony at a packed stadium in the nation’s capital, Harare, has made some remarks about the country’s past President, Robert Mugabe.

The new president sent greetings to Robert Mugabe saying he led the struggle for the country’s independence and that this must be remembered.

He also urged the people to always accept Mugabe’s contribution to the development of the people. He went further to call Mugabe a father and leader.
